claude mcp add --transport http budget-smugglers https://my.budgetsmugglers.app/api/mcpStart Claude Code and type /mcp. Pick budget-smugglers and sign in. Your browser opens Budget Smugglers. Sign in, choose whether Claude Code may make changes, and choose Allow.

claude mcp login budget-smugglersAPI token

claude mcp add --transport http budget-smugglers https://my.budgetsmugglers.app/api/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer bsm_..."Replace bsm_... with your token. When you make a token, the app shows this command with the token already filled in.
Use it in every project#
By default the server is only added for the folder you’re in. Add --scope user to use it everywhere:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user budget-smugglers https://my.budgetsmugglers.app/api/mcp
Don’t use --scope project with a token. That writes the server to .mcp.json in the project, which often ends up in git.
