What is Budget Smugglers?
A budgeting app for households and businesses. Bring in every account, see where the money goes, and plan what's coming.
Budget Smugglers keeps your whole money picture in one place: everyday spending, bills, loans, savings, super, property, shares and crypto. It’s built in Australia, for Australian banks and super funds, but works anywhere.
What it does#
- Brings in every account. Import statements from your bank, or let the Sync extension fetch them while you’re logged in. Your bank passwords never reach us.
- Sorts itself out. Rules file most transactions for you, and optional AI picks up the odd ones.
- Budgets, goals and bills. Set a budget per category, save towards goals, and see your balance weeks ahead with the forecast.
- The big stuff. Home loans and offsets, bonus-rate savings, super, property and shares, all adding up to your net worth.
- Share it. Put your household in a pool together, and keep a business in a pool of its own.
- Ask AI. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant and ask about your money.
Where to start#
- Create your account and run through the setup wizard.
- Import your first statement, or install the Sync extension.
- Check the categories and rules, then set a few budgets.
Your data#
Your data lives on a server in Sydney. It is encrypted on disk and in the nightly backups, and never sold or used for ads. There are no trackers. You can download everything or delete your account whenever you like. The security and privacy section has the details.
