Delete your account
Delete your account from Settings › Profile. What goes, what stays, and how long backups hang on.
- Open Settings › Profile.
- Under Delete account, choose Delete account… to see which pools go with it.
- Type delete and choose Email me the link.
- Open the email on the same browser you’re signed in on, and choose Delete my account.
The link lasts 24 hours. If you change your mind, ignore the email and nothing happens.
What goes#
- Your account: profile, sign-in methods, passkeys, sessions, API tokens and connected apps.
- Every pool only you are in, with everything in it.
- Your place in any shared pools. The pool and its data stay with the other members.
You’ll get an email confirming it’s done.
What stays#
- Shared pools stay with their other members, including the transactions you added. The audit log keeps the record of changes, without your name attached.
- Backups keep a copy until they age out. They’re all gone within 12 months, and they’re never used except to restore the whole service. See backups.
When it won’t let you#
- You’re the only owner of a pool others use. Make someone else an owner under Settings › Members & roles first, or remove the other members.
- You’re a Budget Smugglers admin. Ask another admin to take admin away first.
Anyone else signed in to your account through a Lifeguard pass can’t delete it.
