Security and privacy
Download your data
Download a zip of your profile and every pool you own, as CSV and JSON, from Settings › Profile.
Your data is yours. Download all of it whenever you like, to keep a copy, to move to something else, or just to see what’s stored.
- Open Settings › Profile.
- Under Your data, choose Download my data.
- Save the zip.
We email you when your data is downloaded, in case it wasn’t you. You can download once a minute.
What’s in the zip#
| File | What’s in it |
|---|---|
README.txt |
What’s what, and which pools were included |
profile.json |
Your name and email, preferences, notification settings, notifications, pool memberships, sign-ins, devices, passkeys (names only), API tokens (names only), connected apps and Lifeguard passes |
pools/<name>/transactions.csv |
Every transaction in the pool, ready for a spreadsheet |
pools/<name>/*.json |
Everything else in the pool, one file per kind of record: accounts, categories, rules, budgets, goals, bills, loans, savings, super, assets, shares, crypto, people, milestones, the audit log and more |
In the JSON files, amounts are whole numbers of cents (or the smallest unit of the currency), the way they’re stored. The CSV shows normal amounts.
What’s left out#
- Pools you don’t own. You get your own pools in full. For a pool someone else owns, ask its owner for a copy.
- Secrets. Password hashes, two-step sign-in secrets, passkey keys, API token values and invite links never leave the server.
- Shared reference data, like share prices and exchange rates, which isn’t yours or anyone else’s.
